Why does Database connnection does not succeed and Queries get Timed-Out when a Read/write server is not configured in Scalearc for MySQL.
Firstly, this does not happen when you test connection from Scalearc with the mysql -h command to the Read server. This willl succeed. This happens only when using specific clients like Mysqlyog or workbench. Such clients are found to send typical "SET" queries to the configured Read server. The SET Query is treated as write and hence not sent to the Read server(s). You can cofigure such queries in write Ignore rule to treat them as Read queries. It must be noted that "Read/Write" split must also be turned "OFF" in such case otherwise subsequent queries will fail when trying to fetch tables on the configured Read database server(s).
