Functional Spec: Idle Connection Timeout
|Parameter Location||CLUSTER -> Server Settings|
|Default Value||30 seconds|
|Value Range (if numeric)||0 - UNLIMITED|
|Modifiable without restarting cluster||YES|
This setting declares the number of seconds that target server controls connection to remain idle before closing them. It is recommended for DBA to manually declare this value depending on the idle connection parameter set on DB server side.
ScaleArc performs keep-alive for all server connections in ScaleArc connection pooling every half period of Idle Conneciton Timeout. For example, ScaleArc performs keep-alive every 15 seconds if this value is set 30 seconds.
Please consider to keep this value shorter than the actual timeout specified since this parameter helps with keep-alive, which can improve server performance by avoiding reestablishing server connections.
