Best Practice: Why does my OVA install error out?
While downloading & installing OVA to spin up ScaleArc on a virtual machine, often times there are errors similar to below -
- This is not a problem specific to ScaleArc OVA but in fact how OVA itself has been downloaded and from which browser.
- Note that the browser you choose to download may differentiate the way in which OVA downloads.
For instance, downloading from 'Google Chrome' results in "Scalearc-126.96.36.199-CentOS-6.6-7-169-STANDALONE.tar" as shown
Where as downloading from Firefox results in "Scalearc-188.8.131.52-CentOS-6.6-7-169-STANDALONE.ova" as shown
- As a best practice, always install from the OVA and not just the OVF file
- Refer to below article for more information on why to choose the OVA file instead of OVF
