QUESTION

How to set a MSSQL database to read-only mode?

ANSWER

MSSQL:

To Set a database to read-only mode in MSSQL:

Go to the appropriate DATABASE, right click, PROPERTIES, go under OPTIONS, and you will see DATABASE READ-ONLY.

Set this property to TRUE.

Alternatively, you can do this in T-SQL:

USE [master]

GO

ALTER DATABASE [Database Name] SET  READ_ONLY WITH NO_WAIT

To Set the database back to Read+Write mode:

USE [master]

GO

ALTER DATABASE [Database Name] SET  READ_WRITE WITH NO_WAIT
